This is becoming common in this day and age. More and more Manufacturers are getting away from wired headsets and telling people to purchase Bluetooth.
Samsung, LG, Pantech, Sanyo, and Sony Ericsson are among other manufacturers that depending on the phone and its features it does not have a wired headset available for it.
Bluetooth is a great technology, but it is not for everyone. If you are an audiophile like myself you know that Wired sound is better than wireless sound in this day and age.
